Introducing Important Notes Flagging
Critical case information should never be buried at the bottom of a long notes list. Important Notes Flagging lets professional Homey users mark any note as Important with a single click, pulling it into a dedicated panel and keeping it pinned to the top of the case, so the details that matter are always the first thing you see.

Flagging What Matters
Marking a note as Important takes one click, and you can do it wherever you already work with notes, on an existing card or as you create a new one.
One Click Importance with the Inline Star
Every note now carries a star icon inline on its card, sitting alongside the context menu button and starting in an outlined state. Click it once and the note is marked Important. The star fills to a solid amber, an Important badge appears on the card, and the note is added to the Important Notes panel. Click the filled star again to unmark it. The star returns to outlined, the badge disappears, and the note drops back into the regular list. The same action is available from the note's context menu. Marking a note Important is completely independent of pinning, so you can use both flags together, and it is reserved for professional users. Clients can neither set nor see the flag.
Set the Flag as You Create or Edit
You do not have to save a note first and hunt for it afterwards. A Mark as Important toggle now appears in both the Add Note and Edit Note dialogs. For a new note the toggle starts off. When you open a note that is already Important, it is preset to on so you can see its status at a glance. Save with the toggle on and the note is flagged immediately. Save with it off and the note stays, or becomes, a regular note.

Critical Notes, Always in View
Flagging a note is only half the story. Homey surfaces your Important notes in a dedicated space and reorders your list so priorities are never out of sight.
A Dedicated Panel and Intelligent Ordering
Marked notes collect in an Important Notes panel at the very top of the Notes page, above the All Notes section, styled in an amber colour scheme so it stands out at a glance. The panel header shows a live count of how many notes are flagged, for example "2 notes", and it is fully collapsible, with a chevron that toggles the list open or closed. Inside, each note appears as a compact mini card with a filled star you can click to unmark, and when no notes are flagged the panel disappears entirely to keep your workspace clean. Important notes also rise to the top of the main All Notes list: pinned notes stay at the very top, followed by Important notes ordered newest first, then the remaining notes below, also newest first. The moment you mark or unmark a note, the list reorders in real time, so what matters most is always exactly where you expect it.
Dependable Across Your Whole Team
Important Notes is built to be reliable in a busy, shared case file. The flag stays where you put it, everyone stays in sync, and every change is accounted for.
Persistence, Real Time Sync and a Full Audit Trail
Once set, the Important flag sticks. It survives edits to the note's content, page refreshes, and logging out and back in, and it is only ever removed when someone explicitly unmarks it via the star, context menu, or Edit Note toggle. If an Important note is deleted, it is automatically removed from the panel and the count updates. Because cases are rarely worked alone, changes reflect instantly: mark or unmark a note and the panel and badge update immediately for you, and in real time for every other user with access, respecting each note's existing visibility settings. Every change is also captured in the activity log, recording "Note marked as Important by [User Name]" or "Note marked as not important anymore by [User Name]", each with the acting user and a timestamp, so admins keep a complete, auditable history of who changed what, and when.
