Two-Factor Authentication - Enhanced Security Setup

Previously, account security relied solely on passwords or magic links, which could be compromised if credentials were stolen or intercepted. With this feature, users can enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of security. Users must provide both their password (or magic link) and a time-based one-time password (TOTP) from an authenticator app to log in.

Easy Setup and Backup

The setup process guides users through scanning a QR code with an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator) and validating the setup with a code. The system generates backup codes that users can save securely to access their account if they lose their device, preventing lockouts while maintaining high security.

Enforcement and Recovery

Once enabled, the 2FA requirement is enforced at every login to protect sensitive conveyancing data. The system supports recovery options where users can disable 2FA using their backup codes or through account recovery processes, ensuring that accounts remain secure even if primary credentials are compromised.
